Bookkeeper/payroll Assistant

Our client is a well-established, forward-thinking company based in Grimsby who is now recruiting for an experienced Bookkeeper / Payroll Assistant. This is a full-time position within a chartered accountancy practice.
**Duties will include but are not limited to**:
- Sales, purchase and nominal ledger maintenance/processing
- Bank reconciliations
- VAT return preparation
- Processing payrolls at all levels of complexity
- Assist in setting up of new payrolls
- Entering permanent details onto client payrolls
- Processing SMP, SSP, CIS etc
- Dealing with client queries
- Advising clients on the use of accounting software
- Preparing reports for clients
**Skills and Abilities required**:
- Experience of managing ledgers and preparing reconciliations
- Significant experience of using accounting/payroll software
- Good working knowledge of payroll processes
- Customer service experience and the ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Organised, friendly, reliable, have great communication skills and a willingness to learn are essential
