The Data Practice is the team made up of experts dedicated to Data centric offers (Data platform, Data Analytics, IoT, Big Data, Data compliance) who support our customers in their IT and Data transformations.

We help customers choose the right tools and services, build highly scalable secure environments, and help them manage the maintenance of those environments. We come up with creative solutions to difficult problems and every engineer gets to have a large direct impact on each of those customers.

The team is made up of engineers from all around the country in distributed teams. You can work fully remote or at any Claranet UK office - most people choose a combination of the two. **Expectations**
- You will be expected to deliver large-scale data migration and/or modernisation projects
- You’ll support and manage the Informix environments of key strategic customers.
- You'll shadow and mentor other engineers to help them resolve complex support issues
- You'll engage with key customer stakeholders in technical, pre-sales and commercial conversations
- You'll be expected to deliver workshops (either standard or bespoke) to customers
- You'll be able to produce new written technical content for external use by our customers
- You'll be required to present content to a mixed-skilled audience

**What you will accomplish**

**Within the Data practice, you will be responsible for**:

- Supporting Informix Database platforms. This will include:

- Troubleshooting
- Monitoring
- Optimization/tuning of system performance
- Security
- Reporting
- On-Call rota for 24/7 fourth-line support.
- Automation of all support activities including backups, patching, and script deployments.
- Accompany customers towards Cloud technologies and other cloud-native Data Services.
- Ensure the storage, processing, and quality of customer data

**About You**:
**Technology**

**You’ll have experience with the following technologies**:

- Informix database (11.70 and newer)
- Unix and Linux systems administration
- Programming Languages such as: Python, Perl, C, Java

**You’ll ideally also have experience with the following technologies**:

- Exposure to storage area networks, particularly EMC, IBM, Sun and HP
- Public Cloud Infrastructure deployments (Azure, AWS)
- A working knowledge of Openbet
