**Human Resources Officer**:

- Maternity Cover - minimum 12 months

**Job Purpose**

This role will be part of a small team that leads our organisation in welcoming and nurturing our People - looking after new joiners, inductions, People matters, probation periods, appraisals, reporting and implementation of the operational plans for the team. This role reports directly to the Head of People and is key to helping to drive our culture and core values.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support our recruitment process by requesting and logging references, sending job offers and creating new employment contracts, chasing through to completion and filing
- Look after new employees including inductions, probationary period reviews, training requirements and promoting the CFT welcome
- Implement our appraisals and Personal Development Plan processes, working with managers and logging outcomes
- Support our Head of People on disciplinaries, performance management, grievances and absence management
- Support the organisation with People data collation and reporting
- Support CFT with our Employee Retention and Staff Benefits Programmes
- Update People policies, ensuring compliance with latest legislation and best practice, and upload to intranet
- Employee communications
- Management of human resources system Staff Savvy to ensure all personnel records are up-to-date and accurate including sickness absence and holiday logging

**Person Specification**
- Proven HR experience is essential
- CIPD qualification is preferable with sound knowledge of employment legislation and best practice
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workspace
- Strong administration, organisation and accuracy skills
- Excellent written, presentational and verbal communication skills
- Proficient IT skills
- Approachable and personable with the ability to support, empower and motivate
