**Context**

Portfolio officer:
As a Portfolio Officer, you will support the ESRC to engage with a wide range of academic and broader stakeholder communities. You will undertake a diverse range of activities including supporting the management and monitoring of key investments, meetingorganisation and support, undertaking commissioning of new and existing investments, organising review panels and engaging with funders. You will provide this support across portfolio areas within a hard-working, dynamic team, supporting everyday team functionsand owning discrete areas of work that you drive forward.

Grants Delivery Officer:
As a Grants Delivery Officer (GDO) within GDT, you will engage with academics at the forefront of economic and social science research, facilitating assessment of high-quality grant proposals. You will ensure that the end-to-end processing of grants is efficientand on time. You will also be a source of advice on ESRC's policies and processes. You will build and manage strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation and external stakeholders to facilitate the effective delivery of funding through a widerange of supporting systems, data, processes, mechanisms and policies.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide support on the grant-level portfolio management of investments
- Lead arrangements and prepare agendas for internal and external meetings and record clear minutes and actions
- Support colleagues across ESRC and UKRI to ensure the successful delivery of commissioning processes, including mailbox management; checking proposals, peer review selection, and maintain support for funded projects
- Support senior colleagues to analyse existing portfolio data, helping the team to catalyse, prioritise and develop new ideas
- Contribute ideas for improvements to our policies and processes.

**Criteria**

Essential:

- A degree in a relevant discipline, or demonstrable experience of working in a relevant environment or role
- Planning and organisational skills, including an ability to prioritise and manage complex activities
- Quality focused, with demonstrable attention to detail and pride in accuracy
- Ability to take a positive approach to solve problems and overcome challenges
- Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders from different types of organisations and at different levels
