- To prepare and write witness/victim statements in the approved evidential format.
- To undertake tasks and activities in support of criminal investigations. This includes reviewing material for secondary investigation that may be of a sensitive or confidential nature as well as conducting CCTV and witness enquiries.
- When appropriate to seize, handle and ensure continuity of exhibits. Recording of information, storage and preparation of exhibit lists and disposal of property (**Designated Power Police Reform Act 2002**).
- Liaise with other police forces, outside agencies, and partners in the furtherance of investigating requirements.
- ** Assist** in the preparation of files to the required standard as agreed by Northamptonshire Police and Crown Prosecution Policies.
- As directed, to undertake all other reasonable allocated tasks and activities in support of criminal investigations at the direction of an OIC/Supervisor **NOTE**:
The job description reflects the major tasks to be carried out by the post holder and identifies a level of responsibility at which the post holder will be required to work. In the interests of effective working major tasks may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changing needs and circumstances. Such reviews and other consequential changes will be carried out in consultation with the post holder. The post holder will be also required to carry out such other duties as may be determined from time to time to be within the general scope of the post.

**CONDITIONS OF SERVICE**:
The annual leave entitlement is 23 days with an additional 5 days after 5 years continuous service.

Please be aware that the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and Northamptonshire Police are separate employers. Although Police internal vacancies are open to OPFCC staff and vice versa, if you are successful, the change of employer will require a longer onboarding process and you will receive a new contract and payroll number. Service with either employer can be carried over as continuous service.

**Police Barred and Advisory lists**

Individuals placed on the Police Barred and Advisory lists will not be considered for employment by the Police or OPFCC for a minimum of 5 years from the date of listing in the case of gross misconduct, or 3 years from the date of listing in the case of poor performance.
