Dealing with members of the public and assisting colleagues by preparing evidential packages for secondary investigation- How does the work this team does make a difference- We deal with over 15% of the Force's crimes, dealing with high volume low risk incidents, thereby taking demand away from Neighbourhoods and Response Teams- The purpose of this role- To support investigating officers in the completion of administrative functions that relate to both criminal investigation and judicial process- Job description**Main Responsibilities**:

- To prepare and write witness/victim statements in the approved evidential format.
- To undertake tasks and activities in support of criminal investigations. This includes reviewing material for secondary investigation that may be of a sensitive or confidential nature as well as conducting CCTV and witness enquiries.
- When appropriate to seize, handle and ensure continuity of exhibits. Recording of information, storage and preparation of exhibit lists and disposal of property (**Designated Power Police Reform Act 2002**).
- Liaise with other police forces, outside agencies, and partners in the furtherance of investigating requirements.
- To support the Lead Interviewer in suspect & victim interviews as Second Interviewer. (This will not necessitate Designated Powers).
- ** Assist** in the preparation of files to the required standard as agreed by Northamptonshire Police and Crown Prosecution Policies.
- As directed, to undertake all other reasonable allocated tasks and activities in support of criminal investigations at the direction of an OIC/Supervisor **NOTE**:
The job description reflects the major tasks to be carried out by the post holder and identifies a level of responsibility at which the post holder will be required to work. In the interests of effective working major tasks may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changing needs and circumstances. Such reviews and other consequential changes will be carried out in consultation with the post holder. The post holder will be also required to carry out such other duties as may be determined from time to time to be within the general scope of the post.

**CONDITIONS OF SERVICE**:
The annual leave entitlement is 23 days with an additional 5 days after 5 years continuous service.
