The core function of this role is to undertake filming and photography on behalf of the department to highlight and champion the wider force, producing both external and internal content.

Working with a senior colleague, the varied role will include showcasing frontline policing and the force’s wider varied workforce, producing campaign videos, attending press briefings, assisting in running live broadcasts, covering award events and filming internal briefings - all in line with the Force’s Matters of Priority.

Publishing content both on Northamptonshire Police’s external website and across its social media channels, an understanding of producing content for different platforms, different audiences and emerging trends is vital.

The nature of the job means flexibility to work outside of core office hours on occasions will be required.

The successful applicant will be confident using modern ‘mirrorless’ camera systems, different audio set-ups, software including Adobe Premiere, Lightroom and Photoshop and have the ability to conduct interviews. The nature of this role means work across the county and a vehicle is required.

**Recruitment and Selection Policy**

Internal applicants who are at risk of redundancy or in need of redeployment and pass the selection process, will be offered the role over the remaining internal and external applicants.

Please be aware that the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and Northamptonshire Police are separate employers. Although Police internal vacancies are open to OPFCC staff and vice versa, if you are successful, the change of employer will require a longer onboarding process and you will receive a new contract and payroll number. Service with either employer can be carried over as continuous service.

**Police Barred and Advisory lists**

Individuals placed on the Police Barred and Advisory lists will not be considered for employment by the Police or OPFCC for a minimum of 5 years from the date of listing in the case of gross misconduct, or 3 years from the date of listing in the case of poor performance.
