PARTICIPATION COORDINATOR, CHANGING FUTURES (LIVED EXPERIENCE TEAM), NOTTINGHAM, PERMANENT, 37 HPW, FRWK08 £23,430 - £25,292
Are you passionate about helping people who use services to have a say in how those services are developed and delivered?
What is Changing Futures?
Changing Futures Nottingham is one of 15 partnerships across the country working towards sustainable improvements in 'the system' which supports people facing severe and multiple disadvantage.
Severe and Multiple Disadvantage (SMD) is generally considered to be an experience of three or more of the following sources of disadvantage simultaneously; mental health issues, homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse and contact with the Criminal Justice system.
The Lived Experience Team works alongside the delivery team to encourage and promote the voice of those with living and lived experience of SMD. Our group of Expert Citizens provide consultations for external agencies. In consultations people with lived and living experience of SMD are being asked to share their unique point of view on an issue.
Values statement as written by our Expert Citizens
"We are looking for someone that can clearly demonstrate a number of important values. They need to be non-judgemental and understand the power and importance of kindness and showing respect in order to receive it. They need to be able to put themselves in the shoes of the people that the Changing Futures programme will be supporting and be committed to seeing the person and not the label. They also need to be committed to challenging inequality, understanding that inequality and experience of discrimination can have a big impact on a person’s life and on how they engage with services and the support available. They need to be willing to listen in order to really hear and understand people’s experiences, their views and ideas. They also need to have a real desire and willingness to learn and grow, with a commitment to their own personal development. Overall, we are looking for someone that is clearly passionate about improving the lives of people that face severe and multiple disadvantage and who can use that passion to bring about change."
We strongly encourage applicants from marginalised communities to apply.
