We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and versatile individual to join the Trust as an Apprentice Waiting List Co-Ordinator in the Gastroenterology Department.
- This is a fixed term contract for 14 months* We as a Trust encourage and support your progression beyond your Apprenticeship and will be here to help
We are very proud of our Apprentice success rates, with 92% of Apprentices successfully obtaining a substantive post within the Trust at the end of their Apprenticeship contract, and 98% of Apprentices having further plans in place following their Apprenticeship e.g. going on to further education, joining the NNUH staff bank or obtaining employment at another organisation.
**Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria**:
**All applicants must be**:
- Aged 16+
- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years
- Must not be in any form of formal government-funded education upon the start of their apprenticeship
**Qualifications and Skills Required**:
- Good general standard of education
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills
**Full time**: 37.5 hours per week
**Interview date**: 8th September 2023
**As the successful post holder, you will**:
- provide waiting list management for the Gastroenterology Directorate. This role relies on close working relationships between consultants, secretaries, departmental staff, patients, Day Procedure Unit and general practitioners.
- ensure that all waiting lists within Gastroenterology are maintained accurately, observing the rules of ‘real time data entry’. All aspects of this role should be carried out in line with the Patient Access Policy and the Trust PAS User Policy.
- Undertake responsibility for Gastroenterology waiting lists ensuring compliance with local and national target / policies and ensuring relevant documentation is sent to patients and information entered on to the appropriate IT Systems
- To have a comprehensive knowledge and good understanding of Patient Access Policy to always work in line with Trust and National policies, procedures and targets on real time data entry and confidentiality
Monday - Friday 9.00 - 17.00

- Undertake responsibility for Gastroenterology waiting lists ensuring compliance with local and national target / policies and ensuring relevant documentation is sent to patients and information entered on to the appropriate IT Systems
- To have a comprehensive knowledge and good understanding of Patient Access Policy to always work in line with Trust and National policies, procedures and targets on real time data entry and confidentiality
- Good working knowledge of PAS and the ability to undertake RTT recording as appropriate. Record all relevant information to Trust guidelines in line with Information Governance and policies.
- To implement booked admission protocols and procedures for Gastroenterology; this will involve mutually agreeing a booked date for patients attending the unit. To initiate action regarding cancellation.
- To oversee daily operating lists, ensuring they are full and accordingly meet the demands of the consultants and the Unit.
- Close liaison with the medical secretarial staff to ensure accurate updating of information.
