Site Payroll and HR Administrator

Stoddart's is a leading Scottish beef processing company that plays an integral part in the journey of Scottish beef from farm to fork.
Due to maternity a temporary vacancy exists for a Payroll /HR Administrator to join the business, reporting to the Head of HR you will carry out a range of administrative & payroll tasks.
This is a full-time position 37.5 hours per week which may change from time to time in accordance with the needs of the business, therefore flexibility is required.
**Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities**
- Maintaining HR/T&A system - inputting new starts / leavers / relevant changes
- Preparing files for weekly payroll processing
- Maintaining personnel files
- Coordinating bi-monthly Occupational Health visits
- Generating reports from HR/T&A system for management
- First point of contact on site for HR queries / questions
- Attending and taking minutes of confidential meetings
- Liaise regularly with and escalate issues to the Head of HR
- Reception cover
- Hospitality / function arrangements
- Interaction with suppliers, customers, employees, management and other key stakeholders
- General administrative duties
- Assisting site managers in a variety of admin tasks
- Pulling data and generating reports
- Running the in-house payroll and sending for processing to payroll provider
**Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
- Previous experience gained in an administration role
- Previous experience of payroll processing or preparing payroll files for processing by another party is highly desirable
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as bespoke software packages)
- A confident and effective communicator (oral and written)
- Proven customer service skills
- Able to demonstrate integrity when dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information
- A high level of flexibility, adaptability, and ability to prioritise own workload in a fast paced environment with sometimes conflicting needs and demands
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills
- Professional and discrete approach
- Assertive, bubbly and personable manner
- Positive, can-do attitude, and sleeves rolled-up approach
- Uses own initiative and works effectively with mínimal supervision
