We are currently looking for an Payroll Assistant to join our team in our award-winning business at Auchincruive, Ayr. This is a full time position and is office based.

What you’ll be doing:

- Supporting the Payroll Team Leader in processing payroll in-house for Neogen Europe and its associated companies.
- Liaising with an outsourced payroll company as required.
- Dealing with employee queries, liaising with HR and administering payroll deduction schemes (pension, childcare vouchers, court orders etc.).
- Ensuring New Starter and Leaver information is processed in a timely manner.
- Assisting with other accounting responsibilities including processing journals, reconciliations, Intercompany recharges, and payroll variances.
- Processing & preparing of statutory documentation such as pay slips, P45, P46 and P60's, P11Ds.
- Assisting the Payroll Team Leader in improving payroll processes where appropriate.
- Managing the payroll & payments inbox.
- Supporting the wider Finance function by generating payments runs & processing ad hoc payments.
- Employee expense management (Concur) - including auditing expenses.
- Assisting with internal and external audits.

About you:

- You’ll have previous payroll experience, in a role working with large amounts of data is preferred.
- You’ll have experience of using Microsoft Office packages, including Excel.
- You’ll have excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external parties.
- You’ll have the ability to work in a busy environment where time is of the essence and are able to work to strict timetables whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail.
- You’ll be able to be positive and focused when under pressure.
