Data Quality and Cancer Waits Team Leader

Working across Specialised Cancer, Medicine and Rehabilitation the post holder will be responsible for the improvement and maintenance of quality and completeness of data and information to ensure local and national reporting is as accurate as possible.

As the Team Leader for data quality staff in 18 weeks and cancer waiting times this role is pivotal in supporting the Specialised Cancer, Medicine and Rehabilitation (SCMR) care group in delivering these targets.

The post holder will be responsible for identifying and monitoring performance issues across clinical specialities and will ensure that senior management is fully advised of performance and any concerns or trends. The DQ Team Leader will also be responsible for advising senior management on potential corrective action required.
- Line manage A&C staff across DQ and CWT teams in SCMR.
- Maintain an expert knowledge of all systems and processes pertinent to the recording patient pathway data e.g. Lorenzo, Information Services reports, ERS, clinical portal.
- Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all clinical pathways within the care group.
- Act as a point of contact and advice for the care group regarding patient pathway data quality issues including RTT and CWT issues.
- Actively monitor patient pathway data error/breach reports across the care group ensuring that corrections are made and to be responsible for all training and developing staff in order to competently record patient 18 week pathway data and prevent data errors from occurring minimising validation.
- Responsible for designing and delivering practical training specific to each area to all grades of staff across the Care Group on the 18 week Wait national guidance, Cancer Waiting Times guidance and trust performance management requirements and processes.
