A Data Assistant opportunity has arisen within the Data Management team at the Cancer Clinical Trial Centre. The post holder will contribute to the work of the research teams within the Cancer Clinical Trials Centre. They will be providing support for accurate clinical research data to ensure high quality data is delivered to the requirements of all relevant legislation and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Science qualifications at A level (or equivalent), or exceptional proven relevant experience.

Proven basic knowledge and understanding of biology, cancer and cancer treatments.

Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.

Experience of working within a hospital setting and familiarity with medical terminology.

Accuracy and attention to detail.

**Effective communication skills**: electronic, written and verbal.

Motivated and flexible due to the changing portfolio.

The post holder will contribute to the work of the research teams within the Cancer Clinical Trials Centre, by providing support for sound, accurate clinical research data to ensure the highest possible quality data is delivered to the requirements of all applicable legislation and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

The post holder will be well motivated and flexible due to the changing portfolio. The key aim of the role is to assist the Data Management team, to transfer information from patient notes to case report forms and to maintain all associated trial documentation, as directed. The post holder will be expected to maintain databases for both commercial and non-commercial studies.

The Data Assistant must be able to able to interact with staff in a professional and confident manner and take an ongoing proactive role in maintaining the prestigious research profile of our department. The post holder will have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to work within a large team to deliver high quality projects on time.
