**Job summary**

**Data Administrator**

Due to retirement and a restructure of our admin team workload we are looking for a part-time data administrator to work between the hours of 8.00am - 2.00pm, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed administrator with excellent communication skills to join our friendly and forward-thinking team. We will require you to be a methodical and systematic administrator with a high level of accuracy and focus on attention to detail.

You will have a good understanding of general practice and how we work enabling you to read code and summarise relevant information into the patient clinical notes from all correspondence from hospital and other services.

**Main duties of the job**

Oversee all areas of document management.

Sort, file and code all hospital letters in both electronic and paper form in a timely manner.

Scan and code all letters and relevant correspondence into the patients electronic record in a timely manner, read coding all relevant information into the practice clinical system accurately.

Review medical records of all new patients and produce an accurate summary of the patients medical history within the Emis clinical system. Summarise patients notes when requested.

File and retrieve paperwork in a timely manner, this can be received into the practice via various methods.

Extraction of necessary data from clinical correspondence and input into electronic patient record.

Monitor progress of notes summarising against practice targets.

Audit data collection standards in the practice and pro-actively initiate data quality improvement projects.

Monitor patient call and recall systems.

Ensure the efficient running of the practice computer system, carrying out searches, audits and recalls as required by the doctors, nurses and managers.

Set up and run clinical system searches.

Help and support with user management and support and guide members of staff in the use of the computer system.

Contribute to the continued development and improvement of the practice and its services in relation to data, coding and the medical record.

Ensure security of data at all times

**About us**

We are a seven Partner GMS teaching practice in the North of Sheffield with a practice population of approximately 8500 patients.

Our team includes 3 salaried GPs, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 4 Practice Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants and a team of Reception, Secretarial and Admin staff with a Practice Manager and an Assistant Operations Manager.

We have a spacious modern building.

Both formal and informal communication is an important part of the way our practice runs.

**Job Summary**:
As Data Administrator you will be highly motivated, enthusiastic with excellent communications skills. You will be responsible for improving data quality, ensuring the ongoing accuracy of clinical data within the Emis patient medical record. You will read code and summarise relevant information into the patient clinical record from all hospital correspondence and other sources, working strictly in accordance with the practice notes summarising, coding and workflow protocols.

**Main Duties/Key Tasks**:
