Sheffield, United Kingdom Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The post holder will have a full understanding and provide local expertise to the care group on the National 18-week Referral to Treatment (RTT). The post holder will also be responsible for training staff on 18-weeks validation so that activity is accurately recorded, and errors are minimised therefore enabling admin teams to validate their own error reports. This will be achieved through:

- identifying and documenting key data quality errors affecting each speciality within the care group.
- ensuring that any data entry errors are rectified and/or escalated for management action as appropriate.
- providing intense support to areas where errors occur and resolving data quality issues.
- contributing to the development of local training documentation i.e. induction packs.

The post holder will lead a team of data validators/PTL trackers working into specialities and will organise the workload of the team to ensure equitable data quality activity across the care group. In addition, the post holder will also support staff with data validation duties in their role working within specialities to undertake validation activities and complete corrective actions to ensure accurate recording of patient pathways.

It is expected that the post holder will generate or access standard data reports for validation at specified intervals and in line with Trust reporting requirements. From these reports the post holder will be required to identify trends/problems and agree with the relevant Supervisor/Manager an action plan to validate the reports within reporting timescales.

The role will require working with and supporting the administrative teams to identify where pathway recording requires improvements to ensure accurate waiting time reporting

The post holder will hold responsibility for ensuring accurate RTT / Patient Tracker List and other data quality reports to manage patient pathways are made available to the management team to review and action on a regular basis. The post holder will be expected to interpret the reports, highlighting areas for action by the operational team or using initiative to take corrective action directly.

You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
