About the role:

We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in SEMH needs to join our dedicated team. This full-time, long-term position offers a competitive salary of £85-£100 per day, commensurate with experience. You will play a pivotal role in supporting students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, working closely with class teachers and our SENCO to implement individualized support plans. This vacancy arises due to the expansion of our SEN provision, reflecting our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our student body. You will work within a supportive classroom environment, contributing to small class sizes that facilitate focused learning and personalized attention for each student. This setup ensures you can make a significant impact on the educational journey of children with SEMH needs.

Application Requirements:

• To excel in this role, you should possess a genuine passion for supporting SEN students, particularly those with SEMH needs.
• Relevant experience in a similar setting is advantageous, along with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.

• Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral strategies or sensory integration techniques, to effectively support students with SEMH needs in both classroom and individual settings.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support and continuity of care for SEN students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementing tailored support strategies as outlined in individual education plans (IEPs).

• Providing one-on-one and small group support to students during lessons and structured activities.

• Monitoring and recording student progress, feeding back to the SENCO and class teachers.

• Promoting positive behavior management techniques and fostering a supportive classroom ethos.
