About the role: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We're searching for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in SEMH to join our outstanding school in Barnet. Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is essential.
• Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs support is desirable (e.g., CACHE Level 3, Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature with a passion for helping children succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with the curriculum and manage their emotions effectively.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to create and implement personalised learning plans.
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive behavior and social interactions.
• Monitor and track student progress, adapting support strategies as needed to ensure ongoing development.
• Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources that cater to the diverse needs of students.
