About the role:
We are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in SEMH to join our team as soon as possible. This role is a new addition to our team, designed to enhance the support available for children with SEMH needs, including those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
The successful candidate will provide dedicated support in the classroom, working closely with teachers to implement individualized learning plans. Regular communication with parents and active involvement in support plans are key aspects of this role, ensuring a collaborative approach to each child’s development.
Application Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years working with children with SEMH needs and special educational needs.
• Relevant TA qualifications or experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of SEMH, excellent communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents.
• Experience in managing and de-escalating challenging behavior. This skill is crucial for effectively supporting children with SEMH needs and creating a positive, productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to children with SEMH needs, including those with EHCPs, to help them achieve their learning goals.
• Implement strategies for managing and de-escalating challenging behavior, ensuring a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans and contribute to the overall educational strategy.
• Maintain regular communication with parents to discuss progress, address concerns, and involve them in the development and review of support plans.
