Teenage Helpline is an online peer-to-peer mentoring service for young people. We can act as the first stepping-stone for young people who do not feel comfortable seeking support for themselves, or who need a listening ear to help them cope with personal issues.
All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers. We are a flexible organisation that values the contributions of everyone. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team here at Teenage Helpline to advise our Executive Team on best practice, deploy strategies to engage our volunteer workforce and support our aim to grow a highly engaged and capable team to help deliver our charitable aims.
The People Manager at Teenage Helpline will have a huge opportunity to directly enable Teenage Helpline in delivering key support services to young people - our core purpose as an organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, a successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence our growing organisation whilst directly overseeing a range of People volunteers (spread across Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Policyand key operational roles).
Directly overseeing our People Team, managing other volunteers within the People function to deliver the charity's core people needs.
Promote and develop functional training and skills development for our volunteers. A key resource to us to give back to those who selflessly give their time to support the charity.
Maintain existing policies, and implement new policies as required by the Charity.
Provide support and guidance to managers across the Charity regarding best practice in managing people.
Proven HR experience, or a strong desire to develop existing HR experiences.
Ability to influence others at a senior level to ensure the best outcomes for the organisation.
Experience in, or a general understanding of, recruitment, learning and development or policy development would be beneficial for this role.
