Summary:


Discover International is retained by a California based Life Sciences company who are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their team and support the expansion of their innovative analytical platform. The successful candidate will cover the company's platform, including a state-of-the-art Flow Cytometry Instrument, assays, software, and related services. This role is primarily responsible for managing day-to-day operations at existing accounts, developing and nurturing a pipeline of prospects in immuno-oncology and cell therapy within small, mid-size, and large biotech/pharma companies globally. The Technical Sales Representative will handle inquiries via phone and email, identify decision-makers at target accounts, set up appointments for the field sales team, and report results regularly.


Key responsibilities include proactively initiating and managing cold-call activities into a targeted list of accounts, following up on warm leads from trade shows and other sources, and identifying and qualifying opportunities. The candidate must build trust and credibility with prospects, deliver clear and compelling messages, and gain commitment from prospects to engage with the company.


Responsibilities:


  • Identify and target new opportunities, and follow up on leads generated during conferences, trade shows, and other marketing activities.
  • Assist in managing inquiries from existing accounts related to sales, marketing, and technical support.
  • Help coordinate activities related to demos, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs, both internally and with customers.
  • Provide weekly updates on activities, sales forecasts, commercial outreach, and lead qualification to the manager.
  • Leverage available resources, including existing networks and marketing activities, to identify and qualify prospects.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell existing assays and upsell within organizations.
  • Contribute to the sales cycle in coordination with the Sales Manager based on each account’s specific needs and growth plans.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • 2-4 years of sales experience within the Life Sciences industry, preferably within a multinational or large biotech/life science company.
  • B.S. or higher in Life Sciences strongly preferred; candidates with a business degree will also be considered.
  • Experience with major CRM platforms (Oracle, Salesforce, Dynamics, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Flow Cytometry and/or Cell Therapy industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Must be a self-starter with a strong drive to capture new business opportunities.
  • Able to navigate the sales cycle with an emphasis on handling objections and closing deals
