The HR service centre is the engine room of the People, Capability & Change team � we provide crucial transactional services to colleagues through the whole employee lifecycle. This means a real focus on customer service and attention to detail, ensuring that we provide high quality advice and consultancy support.

We want to build a talent pool at HR partner (HEO) level and will offer roles from our reserve list as vacancies in our team arise. This is a rolling campaign � we will sift and interview regularly � you do not need to wait until the closing date to apply.

Job description

We are looking for HR professionals with experience working in an operational and fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your stakeholder engagement skills and to work within a highly motivated and passionate team.

As a HR service partner, you will:

� Provide and manage the operational workload within your team and delivering the best possible service for your partnered area within the service level agreement.

� Build strong and credible relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally, from a diverse range of background, sharing expertise, resource and support. You will specifically partner a Director General group to deliver great services through the whole of the employee lifecycle � from onboarding to offboarding and everything in between.

� Proactively problem solve and provide expert advice to support business priorities.

� Review and manage performance and delivery of HR services.

� Continuously look for ways to improve DLUHC HR services � working to remove bureaucracy and utilise technology to streamline processes. You will adopt an outward and forward-thinking approach, with a high aptitude for creativity and problem solving. You should encourage a solutions focused culture and have a strong awareness of innovative trials and how they might be applicable to the Department and wider Civil Service.

� Designing interventions with HR Business Partners to target hotspots/trends within groups.

� Lead thematic projects � onboarding, intro of new ways of working, payroll, pensions About you

� The successful candidate will have experience of working in an operational environment and demonstrate expertise in delivering HR services � knowing how to connect the dots to solve difficult queries and problems. You will understand the complexities of the business and partner to pragmatically agree a fair and compliant way forward.

� You will bring excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and will have the ability to adapt your delivery to suit a wide variety of audiences, maximising both impact and understanding.

� You will have a talent for building rapport with others, which helps you build and maintain trusting and long-lasting relationships with your colleagues and stakeholders.

� You will be self-motivated and bring a proactive and positive attitude, which gives you the ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure.

� You will have strong organisational skills, with a calm and composed approach to deliver to deadlines. You are able to flex to meet conflicting priorities and demands, showing resilience and composure.

� You enjoy looking for better ways of working and your ability to identify improvements and inspire change will be vital to add value to the expert advice and recommendations DLUHC provide to our customers.

Essential Criteria:

� Have a proven track record of working in an HR operational team and fast paced environment.

� Excellent analytical skills including the ability to spot trends and issues. The individual must have knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

� Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, and the confidence to work with diverse stakeholders and build relationships across organisational boundaries.

� Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively to ensure tight deadlines are met.

� Be an excellent line manager and resilient team player with the ability to work under pressure and respond positively and flexibly to concurrent demands.

� Have excellent communication skills, balanced with the confidence to remain firm under challenge.

� Have a creative and solution focused outlook, with the ability to identify and drive forward process improvements.

� Be willing to continue their own development and understanding in recruitment, on-boarding and HR policy best practice. Building and maintaining an understanding of employment law will underpin this.
