Job description

The Government Digital Service is looking for a lead product manager who wants to make a difference by delivering simpler, faster and more secure public services that meet user needs.

As Lead Product Manager you�ll:

own and be responsible for developing and articulating a clear vision, proposition and roadmap�provide direction and leadership for multidisciplinary product teams in running, supporting and continuously improving fraud related products so that they meet user and programme needswork alongside the Head of Fraud and other fraud team leads to manage the prioritisation of work, balancing support and new feature delivery to ensure products remain reliable, robust and secure, whilst also continuously being improvedlead teams in assessing new information about the needs of potential users of the platform, and making decisions about which to meetbuild our relationships with other organisations involved in the Digital Identity and counter fraud strategy for government, and with key suppliers�promote the platform across the public sectorcoordinate product development with other programmes, discipline leads and teams across the GDS and the governmentmaintain knowledge of the changing digital identity and account access and management landscapes and the opportunities they provide to improve the delivery of public services in the UKmaintain knowledge of current and emerging fraud threats in the digital identity spacecoach and mentor other members of the product community, identifying learning and development opportunities for individuals and teamssupport the Head of Fraud with the development and implementation of the wider elements of our counter fraud strategysupport the Head Of Product with development and implementation of the wider One Login Product strategy

We�re interested in people who have experience of:

product managing high-volume digital products in a fast-paced environment, working with multidisciplinary, agile teams from discovery to deliverycontinuous, data-led improvement and iteration of a maturing, live product - ideally in digital identity or counter fraud / financial crimeworking in an environment where managing or considering fraud and security risks is essentialdeveloping and improving a product�s operational maturity as well as ensuring a consistent approach to user and technical operational supportstrong communication skills that enable you to manage vendors, stakeholders and senior leaders, engage with people through a range of channels to identify a common set of priorities, or to explain what you are doing in clear and compelling waysunderstanding modern technologies used in delivery of cloud-based software products - and the ability to explain the high level purpose and constraints of these technologies with non-technical peopledeveloping and selling a product and commercial strategy to secure funding and support for the productworking in or with public sector organisations, including cross-organisational working and navigating spend control processes and procurementrecruiting, coaching and line management of product managers, identifying learning and development opportunities for individuals and teams
