Job summary

Working to support the Soft Facilities Project Manager you will be part of a high performing team delivering facilities management contracts to the UK MOD estate. Exposure to all elements of project delivery should be expected along with managing a range of stakeholders and engaging with industry. An aptitude for project management is essential and relevant experience of delivering high value contracts is highly desirable. Candidates with a background in commercial are also encouraged to apply. The incumbent will be required to deliver at pace and manage a range of diverse tasks and should have relevant experience to demonstrate these abilities. Knowledge of the MOD approvals process, business case authorship and line management experience is also highly desirable.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

Provide support to the Project manager in the delivery of the project in accordance with the Guidance, Processes and Procedures defined in Managing Successful Programmes or APMPAssist the Project Manager in the management of the Project Team in the delivery of the Project, providing a positive working environment and empowering the team at all levels as appropriate.Develop and communicate clear SMART objectives, managing performance and rewarding success.Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other teams across DIO and MOD.Utilise effective project management tools and techniques to ensure the Project delivers to time, cost and quality.Manage and provide guidance of secretariat support for governance activities including the production of monthly reports and preparation and support to the Programme Board.Assist with the development and implementation of the Procurement Strategy and Project documentation including business cases.Support the drafting of Business Cases and Review Notes as required and providing supporting evidence.������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ ��Management and Control of the Programme/Project Information (Controls) database, ensuring compliance with DIO processes, incl key document reviews/updates and monitoring of change control within the Project.Manage the Project evaluation process and reporting by developing procurement questions and marking criteria in accordance with procurement regulationsSupport the development of a detailed risk, issues and opportunities register by working with DCT Risk Managers to ensure they are allocated and managed effectively.Assist the Project Manager in the development of the Benefits Management Strategy and Benefits Realisation Plan including assessment of change readiness and linking benefits to DIO strategic outcomes, providing a focus for change.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working.� This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
