About The Role
This is a Full-time, Fixed term position until August 2025.
The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science draws together the disciplines of health, nursing, midwifery, osteopathy, social care, social policy and psychology and is the largest provider of health care education in Wales, providing an exciting and dynamic environment in which to study and further an academic or professional career. To deliver its sustainable top 30 position, Swansea University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer with excellence in teaching in the Department of Nursing. The successful candidate will make a substantive contribution to the teaching of adult nursing within the Department, as well as a contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision across the School. In addition to sharing organisational and academic administrative responsibilities, the appointee will also be expected to work closely with clinical colleagues in Local Health Boards to support students during clinical learning experiences.
The work of the post-holder will primarily involve students undertaking the pre-registration nursing programme, and will involve contributions to teaching for adult, child and mental health nursing students. It is also anticipated that input into post-registration curricula and development of existing curricula within the nursing health field will be required both within and outside the Department of Nursing.

Welsh Language Skills
The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
