Project Manager: Sustainability Education

We are excited to be recruiting for a new Project Manager to deliver our national and international sustainability education programmes. This role is ideal for a candidate who is excited about transforming education for climate justice, working in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders within universities, colleges, government and trade unions.

Through the role, the successful candidate will develop and foster a close network of students, academics, university college teaching and professional staff, organisers, civil servants and others, shape our transformative education programmes and play an important part in supporting educational reform.

ROLE SPECIFICS

Location: Home working anywhere in the UK, London-based staff have access to our London office for part of the week.

Working pattern: 0.6FTE – 1.0FTE with typical working times between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. The role includes weekly UK-wide travel with early starts and late returns, including possible international travel, and approx. 10 overnight stays a year. Seasonal variation in travel, with peaks and troughs. Homeworkers will be expected to work remotely on a regular basis. Flexible work patterns, condensed hours, and job share opportunities open to negotiation. International aspects require working with contacts in other time zones, sometimes requiring early starts or late finishes, which can be balanced with Time Off In Lieu.

Salary: E (starting salary £30,413 per annum, rising to £34,702). If based in London this role will receive an additional London weighting of £3,405 per annum. We provide up to 6% pension contribution, with life assurance for all those in the pension scheme. We have annual guaranteed pay point increases as well as a cost of living pay increase policy.

Contract: Two-year fixed term, with intention to extend

Interview dates: 5th and 6th September for first stage 15-minute informal phone calls. Second stage interviews will be held on 12th and 13th September. All interviews will be held online and interview themes will be shared in advance.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    We are recruiting a Project Manager to primarily deliver our education programmes, including Responsible Futures.

    Key responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

    • Project manage the successful delivery of Responsible Futures at a set number of allocated organisations, tailoring delivery according to local needs and institutional context.
    • Maintain and develop strong relationships with key people and act as the first point of contact for students and staff at your allocated institutions
    • Plan, design, and deliver engaging training sessions and tailored support for your allocated organisations as a part of established programmes as well as for bespoke consultancy projects.
    • Line manage Responsible Futures student staff member.
