KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and report environmental concerns to the Project Director, Head of Sustainability, and relevant Project Managers that do not meet current statutory, company, or client standards.
- Ensure that each contract or project is set up with appropriate procedures to comply with company and client environmental and sustainability requirements.
- Collaborate with project and site managers to establish effective environmental and sustainability protocols for each contract or project.
- Engage with client representatives to ensure adherence to client specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and reviews to monitor environmental and sustainability compliance, providing reports as necessary.
- Perform formal audits of environmental and sustainability management systems, including those of subcontractors, throughout all phases of a contract or project to maintain system integrity.
- Contribute to project documentation, reviewing and updating as needed.
- Adopt a proactive approach to support contract and project management teams effectively.
- Stay informed about legislation relevant to the company's work activities.
- Actively advocate for environmental and sustainability issues.
- Serve as a deputy in the absence of the Head of Sustainability.
- Provide guidance on the adequacy of environmental and sustainability plans and documents when requested.
- Offer environmental and sustainability insights during the planning of work activities.
- Advise project teams on all environmental and sustainability matters, including input for applications such as section 61 and trade effluent consents.
- Ensure that statutory notifications are managed and compliance is maintained.
- Conduct site-based training on environmental and sustainability practices.
- Develop and implement campaigns to raise awareness of environmental and sustainability issues within the organization, monitoring their effectiveness.
- Oversee the training and toolbox talks provided by project and site managers and contractors.
- Provide regular updates on the status of contracts and projects.
- Assist in advancing the Kilnbridge sustainability agenda.
- Identify and support the implementation of energy-saving opportunities and renewable energy initiatives for the Group's portfolio.
- Integrate environmental best practices into business processes through education and influence, promoting resource efficiency and supporting the development of resource-saving practices.
- Contribute to the conception and implementation of initiatives addressing various sustainability issues on site, particularly in areas such as carbon management, circular economy, and responsible sourcing.
- Assist in calculating and tracking the financial impact of sustainability initiatives.
