We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability professional to join our team at Sir Robert McAlpine. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sustainability ambitions and driving environmental excellence across our projects.

About the Role

The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of our sustainability strategy and client requirements on projects within the London Region. This will involve working closely with our Regional Sustainability Manager and construction project teams to ensure that our environmental management systems are implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable practices across our projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate environmental risks, and to develop strategies for reducing carbon emissions and waste.
  • Manage the procurement process to ensure that goods and services are sourced in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Conduct regular site surveillances and audits to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate project staff and supply chain partners on environmental management and sustainability best practices.
  • Monitor and report on project performance against sustainability targets and client requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance environmental performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a construction environmental or sustainability role.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental assessment methods, including BREEAM, LEED, and HQM.
  • Ability to manage and implement sustainable practices across multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
