Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Environmental Project Coordinator to enhance our efforts in developing impactful projects that effectively sequester carbon from the atmosphere while delivering significant ecological benefits.

Role Summary

The Environmental Project Coordinator will play a vital role within a dedicated team, overseeing the execution of both nature-based and engineered carbon removal projects. This position involves working on diverse project types, including afforestation initiatives guided by the Woodland Carbon Code and biodiversity enhancement projects utilizing the Wilder Carbon Standard.

Key Responsibilities

Project Development and Management: Assist in formulating comprehensive project plans, which encompass timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Ensure the smooth coordination of project activities from initiation to completion, adhering to established deadlines and budgetary constraints. ● Technical Implementation: Collaborate with academic and technical partners to facilitate the execution of carbon removal projects. Maintain a strong understanding of current environmental protocols to ensure high-quality standards across all initiatives. Oversee the management and updating of essential project documentation and reporting. ● Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including university partners, landowners, and verification bodies, to build support for Carbon Bank projects. Organize and participate in workshops and public consultations, representing the Carbon Bank within the broader Green Britain Group. ● Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in implementing monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) frameworks to assess project performance and impact. Maintain the Carbon Bank data center for transparent publication of scientific methods and results. Prepare progress reports for senior management and key stakeholders. ● Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to relevant environmental regulations and standards for all projects, including the Woodland Carbon Code. Develop collaborative relationships with regulatory partners to facilitate project delivery. ● Research and Development: Stay informed about advancements in carbon removal technologies and practices. Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support carbon removal initiatives. Additional Information: ●Flexible work arrangements with a combination of office and remote work. ●Field visits to project sites are an essential part of the role. ●Travel may be necessary for stakeholder meetings and assessments. ●Adaptable working hours may be required to meet project deadlines.

Candidate Profile

Experience: A solid background in managing environmental projects with a minimum of 3 years in a relevant role, focusing on carbon removal or climate change mitigation. ● Skills: Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects. Strong communication skills to build relationships across diverse groups. Proficient in project management tools and MS Excel. Knowledge of environmental regulations is preferred.
