The Role

As a Finance Officer, you will support the efficient and effective running of financial processing, controls, reporting and monitoring of all our client's income.

Assisting the Financial Controller, you will promptly and accurately process all donation and non-donation-related income, manage receipts of legacy income and ensure all cheques, cash and funds received are banked in a timely manner.

Managing the donations inbox, you'll engage with donors and prospective donors, responding to queries and sending out acknowledgement letters, ensuring the Raiser's Edge system is up to date with key donor information and standing data.

Additionally, you will:

Post all supplier invoices and payments

Ensure documentation is up to date

Prepare and submit online Gift Aid claims

Assist with the annual audit and the preparation of the statutory accounts

Complete bank, funds and balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis

Produce monthly reports on donations

About You

To be considered as a Finance Officer, you will need:

Experience in financial accounting

Advanced experience using Excel and integrated multi-ledger accounting systems

Experience of charity accounting and knowledge of such requirements

Experience working as part of a small hands-on team

Experience of filing Gift Aid claims

Knowledge of charity accounting, charity fundraising regulation and legislation

The ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines

Good interpersonal, customer care and liaison skills
