Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Control Specialist to join our team at Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing student and sponsor income collection, chasing debtors, and ensuring prompt allocation of cash to achieve targets in accordance with Company Credit Management Policies.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Income Collection and Credit Control

The role holder will be the prime contact for the timely collection of all student related income owed to the Trust. This will involve managing student and sponsor income collection, debt chasing, and prompt payment allocation to student accounts.

Financial Record Management

The postholder will be responsible for managing the student financial record system, including credit control, reconciliation, and allocation of transactions.

Communication and Liaison

The successful candidate will be responsible for corresponding with students in all matters relating to income collection and maintaining effective professional relationships with both students and colleagues.

Reporting and Analysis

The role holder will assist in building external monitoring and reporting to the board of directors, including the development and running of debtors reports to facilitate the day-to-day management of the student ledger.

Policy Development and Compliance

The postholder will assist in the ongoing development of systems, processes, and policy in relation to student income collection, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations regarding customer data and financial information.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent level of tertiary education, significant experience as a credit controller, and confident user of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and integrated financial ledger systems. The successful candidate will also have good communication and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex financial issues to non-finance managers.
