Role Summary

The Consumer PR Manager, EMEA is responsible for supporting the Director of Consumer PR in executing the overarching EMEA consumer PR strategy. The position plays an important role in securing press coverage for our hotels and portfolio of brands across the region. The role will work across all aspects of consumer PR, with a focus on demand generation, brand and portfolio PR campaigns. The position will collaborate closely with the wider EMEA Communications team, plus marketing, brand, loyalty & partnerships teams, as well as Marriott's Global PR teams.

The position works across Marriott International's full portfolio in EMEA with a focus on driving media demand generation campaigns for the portfolio of brands. The role involves managing PR agencies in key European markets, collaborating closely with in-market comms teams, the review of/ drafting of press materials, event management, media hosting, the implementation of creative campaigns and developing an in-depth understanding of the media landscape in each key market. In addition, supporting on the delivery of dedicated PR activity for Loyalty and Partnership activations and initiatives in the region.

Location: Fetter Lane, London – hybrid working, minimum two days in the office

Skills and experience we will look for in the ideal candidate to join our team:

  • Minimum 5 years of public relations experience preferably within the travel / hospitality / lifestyle sector. Journalism experience considered.
  • Experience and ability to manage the interests and demands of multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working across multiple brands / projects.
  • Experience working with a media mindset and having built up a network of media/ influencer contacts
  • Proven ability to drive results.
  • Excellent English language and written skills required. Please note writing and proofreading is a key part of this role.
  • Additional EMEA language skills a plus.
  • Knowledge of brand public relations with experience in agency management, media relations, press writing, special events, speech writing.
  • Ability to foster relationships with media resulting in positive press coverage.
  • Strong understanding of influencer marketing both paid and earned.
  • Strong execution skills and organisational capabilities.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take the lead and drive campaigns.
  • Excellent skills in event planning and implementation.
  • High energy and enthusiasm and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Flexible, open-minded and collaborative work style
  • Ability to travel internationally.

Education or Certification

  • University degree or equivalent in Public Relations / Communications / Marketing/ Journalism.
