The Social Media team provides support to departments across the University with a focus on student recruitment.

The Social Media Assistant will support the creation and delivery of interesting and engaging content and campaigns for Glasgow Caledonian University's social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. You will have knowledge and experience Knowledge and experience of using multiple social media channels, including analytics, and understand the uses for different platforms.

The successful candidate will report to the Social Media Officer and work with the Marketing and Communications teams to plan and create multimedia content that supports the team's objectives, including student recruitment, brand awareness and reputation building.

We are looking for an ambitious and confident individual who can show initiative and work as part of a dynamic team. You will have a degree in a relevant discipline, knowledge and experience of using multiple social media channels, be able to work under pressure and be able to create concise, accurate and engaging content (i.e. infographics, video, photography or other multimedia).

You will be able comfortable with managing different types of content and working across different departments to support the wider social media aims of the University. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal and be able to demonstrate good planning skills and attention to detail.

You will have a creative flair and experience of using design software (i.e. Adobe suite, Canva, etc.) Experience in video production including filming and editing is desirable.

You will be able to adopt and adhere to our brand guidelines and tone of voice and tailor these depending on audience.
