An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Payroll Team which is part of Revenues, Payments & Payroll Service. Revenues, Payments and Payroll provides System Support, Contract, Payroll and Pensions administration to the Council and its many external clients.

As part of a team you will be communicating with other internal departments and external customers so you need to be organised, have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise. You will be a customer focused, technical, motivated team player with a proven working experience of finance systems and databases.

To be considered, you will hold a proven track record as an enthusiastic and experienced Payroll Officer, or similar role, working with an integrated HR/Payroll/Self Service system with a good understanding of payroll and pensions.

Reporting to the Payroll and Contracts Team Leader, the post holder will be responsible for undertaking:

Payroll Processing and Reconciliation.Process payments based on Service ConditionsProcess DeductionsProcess Pension ContributionsCalculate and Administer Statutory PaymentsAccurately carry out payroll calculationsAbility to plan and manage a wide range of tasks and to monitor performance. Personal Styles and Behaviour As a council employee you will be supported and expected to demonstrate the Councils Core Behaviours.The post holder must be able to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and targets. The post holder must have a flexible approach to work.The post holder must be able to organise their workload to ensure that targets and priorities are met, working with limited supervision.Able to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines, and demonstrate flexibility in being able to respond to changing circumstances.Develop good relationships with others by behaving with integrity, treating people with respect and leading by exampleWe are well adapted to a hybrid model of working, which includes a combination of time spent in the office and at home.
