NLA is seeking an exceptional programme coordinator to join our team. Introduction to NLA

NLA is London's built environment community; an independent, purpose-led membership organisation for everyone with an interest in London's built environment. NLA's programme engages the broadest possible audience from professionals and politicians to Londoners and international visitors, to educate, challenge and create positive change.

Covering topics from public realm and workplaces to housing and transport, NLA's diverse range of projects and events connects London's network of built environment professionals across both private and public sectors, uniting the industry to shape a better city.

About the role

The role involves supporting the programme team, in several curatorial and logistical aspects including event coordination, speaker liaison, preparing briefs and collating presentation materials; research and publications support, from insight gathering and submissions coordinator to proof-reading; exhibition support from concept to installation; writing meeting notes and client follow-ups and general team assistance.

Working with the Head of Programme, LFA, this role involves coordination of the London Festival of Architecture, including coordinating entry processes, providing event organiser support, supporting festival communications and partnerships, organising post-event evaluations, and offering overall team assistance.

Terms

Hours: Full time, 40 hours a week, between 9.00am – 6.00pm. Flexible working from our City of London office, The London Centre (our public gallery) and from home/location of your choice.

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Location: NLA's office's City of London, EC1V (Gresham Street and The London Centre, Guildhall)

Main duties and responsibilities, what will you be doing in more detail:

Plan and deliver allocated events, including copywriting and speaker invitations, briefing and management, and handling pre- and post-event correspondence.
Assist in coordinating related NLA programs, including the London Festival of Architecture, Architecture Diaries, Building Sounds Podcast, London Real Estate Forum, Future City Makers, NLA Collaborate, and various award schemes. Collaborate with the Client Relations team to liaise with members, gather and record insights, and work with NLA's Expert Panel and Committees.
Support the Marketing and Communications team to ensure content for the website, mailers, and social media is up-to-date and delivered on time.
Assist the Events team in delivering the events program, including preparation, front-of-house support, and post-event analysis.
Join internal and external meetings, take minutes, circulate actions, and ensure follow-up and completion by coordinating with various team members before meetings.
Provide general office support, including filing, handling post, office recycling, and answering telephones.

Essential skills & experience:
Strong knowledge and interest in architecture, planning and design in London, including related policies and regulations Basic computer skills (Office 365, including Teams, Adobe Creative Suite, Zoom).
Experience with Apple Mac OS is desirable Good interpersonal skills, a professional telephone manner, and an excellent standard of English
Enthusiasm and a willingness to undertake additional tasks and learn new skills
Precision, great attention to detail and exceptional communication and time management skills

Some of NLA's events are hosted in the early mornings or into the evenings, with some events taking place on weekends during the London Festival of Architecture, so the ability to be flexible around event days is essential.
