The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Postgraduate Research Support Officer to support the operations of the Business School's PGR Support team. This is a fixed term position.

This role works closely with the PGR Support & Development Manager in the delivery of postgraduate research support and related activities within the school's strategic objectives of high-quality research programmes and an excellent student experience.

This role will play a key part in ensuring successful implementation of our new PhD programmes, which welcome their first cohort this September 2024.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills to plan and support the work of a team in line with the academic cycle, anticipating upcoming priorities and deadlines.
  • Confidence in providing clear, accurate and detailed advice and support to a wide range of stakeholders, often of a sensitive nature, proactively seeking advice on more complex issues.
  • The ability to exercise initiative and professional judgement when resolving daily issues and making decisions within the relevant University regulations, policies and processes.
  • An understanding and care for excellent customer service and student experience.

£32,982 to £38,205 per annum, pro rata if part time (Grade 6)
