Job Responsibilities

This entry-level position is available within the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, with opportunities across various core functions, including Local Court, Specialist Casework Group, and Operational Support and Business Services.

In this administration-focused role, you will provide vital support to legal services preparing cases for court proceedings.

Comprehensive training will be provided, enabling you to engage in a variety of tasks that may change daily. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing inquiries from the public via telephone
  • Administering legal documentation
  • Preparing evidential packages for trial use
  • Updating witnesses with pertinent court information
  • Efficiently managing busy digital mailboxes and physical files

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver essential administrative support, overseeing digital mailboxes
  • Provide exceptional customer service to victims, witnesses, agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Assist Legal Services in fulfilling their responsibilities

Specific Duties

  • Maintaining accurate digital records of victims, witnesses, and accused individuals
  • Documenting court outcomes and evidence packages in case management systems
  • Performing printing, scanning, and copying of legal documents as needed
  • Coordinating witness attendance for court dates, occasionally collaborating with law enforcement
  • Managing mail, including the receipt and dispatch of documents from various agencies and legal representatives
  • Processing warrants for witnesses and accused individuals
  • Handling evidence disclosures for ongoing and upcoming cases

Candidate Profile

This role emphasizes administrative skills, and candidates should demonstrate relevant knowledge or experience in administrative functions. If lacking direct experience, candidates must possess a minimum of 5 National 5 qualifications at grades A-C (including English) or equivalent. Additionally, candidates should exhibit:
