The Opportunity:

This is an outstanding opportunity to join an enthusiastic team of Clinical Research Nurses associated with the bone research group and Gastroenterology in the Centre for Genomics and Experimental Medicine. The clinical team manage a variety of simple and complex local and national clinical trials. The successful candidate will have professional responsibility to co-ordinate specific research studies providing care and study related treatment to all patients participating in them. The post holder is also expected to act as an associate nurse for other trials within the unit under guidance from the academic lead and the clinical trial team research nurse manager.

The position is 35hrs a week and is available immediately for 2 years (in the first instance).

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • First level registered nurse with 2 years post registration, with research experience, preferred, demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills for the post
  • Experience in Gastroenterology preferred but not essential
  • Educated to degree level or working towards
  • IT Microsoft office skills, word and outlook and the confidence to work with database systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Research experience including working knowledge of GCP Guidelines, EU Clinical Trials Directive and Research Governance Framework, Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts

£32,982 to £38,205 per annum (Grade 6)
