As a Commercial Operations and Tender Manager, it is your responsibility to meet the full potential of the region ensuring availability of GSK medicines & vaccines in markets. You will do this by helping to simplify processes, drive efficiencies, developing and measuring performance measures, supporting the delivery of business opportunities and mitigating risks.

You will support and deliver key strategic projects / initiatives that bring broader access to medicines / vaccines in a sustainable and compliant manner, overseen by the Senior Commercial Operations Manager. You will support Partner Markets Commercial Team with cross-functional project management of launch activities necessary for launch readiness and successful introduction of new products across Partner Markets, focusing initially on South Africa.

Other role requirements will involve providing support for the end-to-end tender process in Partner Markets. Ensuring all information relating to tenders is obtained, collated, cascaded to the correct people within GSK and that the correct legal procedures are followed when offering GSK products to external tender stakeholders e.g. GO Interactions, document storage and compliance with the Partner markets Tender SOP. You will work alongside internal stakeholders such as; Distribution Managers, Medical, Finance and Therapy leads.

Key Responsibilities

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Responsible for supporting the implementation of the commercial strategy and operational deliverables across Partner Markets with the Distribution Managers, in alignment with the Head of Partner Markets,
  • Identification of key commercial risk and opportunities and support to the Business Owners to deliver priorities, remove barriers and ensure alignment to the commercial strategy and business priorities accordingly.
  • Support the Senior Commercial Operations Manager and Business Owners to assess markets in terms of potential size and share for the product, with the objective of maintaining/growing market share
  • Support the Senior Commercial Operations Manager and Business Owners with the coordination and tracking of launch activities to ensure Vaccines and Specialty launch preparation & Launch readiness
  • Effectively share best practice, insight & competitor activity across Partner Markets.
  • Support ongoing improvement, simplification and alignment of commercial operations across Partner Markets while maintaining compliance and mitigating risks
  • Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders based on trust, openness, honesty and transparency. Demonstrate authenticity, values and integrity.
  • Supports the management of end to end Tender processes in Partner Markets in line with GSK strategy, Tender SOP and all relevant SOPs / legal / legislation requirements: documentation, timely completion of all required approvals and submission, management in internal GSK systems and forecasting, on time supply
  • Support the Senior Commercial Operations Manager with the Partner Market portfolio including process to review feasibility of SKUs and implement portfolio optimization/discontinuation including interacting with medical, regulatory, supply chain and managing my PSR (Product Supply Route) setups.
  • Support the Senior Commercial Operations Manager with Partner Market pricing management process/governance to document pricing decisions including MyPrice system and support commercial review and decision making.
  • Support the Senior Commercial Operations Manager and South Africa team with commercial governance and approval of promotional material and activities in compliant manner and in line with GSK policies
  • Supports with the management and maintenance of compliance knowledge, implementing governance processes to ensure that ALL activities take place in adherence to GSK's prevailing codes, policies and procedures and legal requirements.

  • Degree in: Business, Life Sciences or Pharmacy
  • Relevant sales, negotiation, commercial account and order management experience, and/or
  • Commercial operations management (e.g. tender management, portfolio management, process improvement, KPI management,
  • Experience of Tender Management and GO Interactions and/or experience in management of New Products Launch Readiness activities
  • Track record of effective team working, project management, operational KPI management, strong analytical, excel and problem solving skills
  • Commercial acumen: including sound business analytics and interpretation for effective business solution development.
  • Compliance mindset: able to work compliantly against complex and changing sanctions / local & International regulations, GSK SOPs etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to drive improvements and performance focusing on Compliance
  • Experience of managing multiple markets commercial activities in Emerging Market and/or knowledge of South Africa market would be advantageous.
