As Director, Commercial Pipeline Policy & Advocacy, you will be responsible for developing and delivering an advocacy and government affairs strategy targeting global and international stakeholders, driven by GSK's commercial priorities, to maximize the value of GSK's pipeline. This role will emphasize vaccines with additional opportunity to work on medicines policy and advocacy over time.

Your responsibilities:

These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Serve as the lead vaccine subject matter expert on GSK's Global Corporate Government Affairs & Policy (GCGAP) team.
  • In partnership with Product & Pipeline Communications and Government Affairs (CGA), lead in creation of the company-level vaccines government affairs strategy and deliver relevant policy priorities, positions, and advocacy plans.
  • Drive GSK global and international policy and advocacy efforts and coordinate with regional and local teams to elevate vaccines and vaccination on government agendas and in National Immunization Plans to (including but not limited to): better track of vaccination rates, trends, and opportunities; optimize new vaccine product appraisal/recommendation payment environment; increase funding and procurement opportunities vaccine products; and expand vaccinator authority (e.g. pharmacists) and vaccination settings (e.g. pharmacies, vaccine clinics).
  • Lead global and international policy and advocacy efforts to increase value attribution for pipeline vaccines in government Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies and related bodies, working closely with relevant CGA, medical, and value, evidence, and outcomes (VEO).
  • Partner with the CGA Vaccines Product and Pipeline team to effectively engage with the commercial organization to align priorities, and with regional/local CGA to drive policy implementation and advocacy.
  • Partner with market access, early commercial, and VEO to assess mid- and late-stage vaccine pipeline assets for policy-related risks and opportunities.
  • Represent GSK on the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) and other relevant national and regional trade bodies focusing on vaccine policy and advocacy.
  • Establish and grow GSK vaccine policy thought leadership and thought leadership opportunities with key global and regional external vaccine policy forums.
  • Coordinate and implement vaccine policy and advocacy strategies in multilateral forums (e.g. G7) working closely with relevant GA teams across GSK.
  • Contribute to end-to-end public affairs strategies/campaigns for vaccines and other commercial priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals meeting these requirements to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline
  • Vaccine policy and/or government affairs experience in a global or local role, preferably with direct experience within the vaccine industry or in a consulting capacity
  • Corporate or government affairs experience in the public or private sector, ideally within a major hub of global influence (Brussels, London, Geneva, Washington, DC, etc)
  • Experience leading and delivering policy and advocacy strategies at the local, national and/or global level
  • Experience working with trade associations, preferably in the biopharmaceutical field or the healthcare industry
  • Experience representing organizations in public forums (e.g. conference panels, roundtables, stakeholder forums)
  • Experience of developing, implementing, and measuring policy and advocacy strategies that support commercial objectives
