Corporate and Institutional Coverage (CIB) is an origination and coverage business operating across the UK and North America focused on serving the needs of Mid and Large Cap clients. The business leads with a sector and relationship focus, whilst maintaining UK regional delivery through hubs in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Sales Strategy Lead to join our Cardnet Merchant Services team based in London.

What you'll be doing:

  • Define, own and lead the delivery of the Sales strategy for enterprise clients across the Cardnet Joint Venture.
  • Identify target sectors, commercial opportunity and proposition requirements to be successful in those sectors.
  • Work cross functionally across the Cardnet and CIB business to drive business requirements that are enablers to delivery of strategy.
  • Use MI to determine efficient commercial focus across both new sales and existing clients to help grow the Cardnet P&L business.
  • Understand market trends, key competitors and how we can win against them from an end to end proposition.
  • Own and run the monthly operating reviews across a range of senior partners.
  • Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities by working within existing development framework; provides niche training or mentor in area of expertise to others throughout the organisation.
  • Uncovers emerging issues and/or needs and identifies potential causes, related issues, key partners and barriers.

Essential skills:

  • Full and extensive knowledge of card acquiring payment and payment gateway solutions.
  • Working knowledge of acquiring schemes, their drivers, industry dynamics.
  • Ability to identify commercial opportunities through MI analysis
  • Proven ability to define and own strategic recommendations to drive the business forward.
  • Proficient in excel, analytics and PowerPoint.

Desirable skills:

  • Demonstrating proficient planning and control.
  • Industry awareness to ensure up to date with current and future innovation.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing 'significant harm' to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks

If you manage certified colleagues this role will be identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC R as defined in the FCA Handbook(1) The function of managing or supervising a certification employee, directly or indirectly, is an FCA-specified significant-harm function.(2) A function in (1) is not an FCA certification function for that firm if it is performed by an SMF manager of that firm.
