We have an exciting opportunity for a career minded individual who is looking to progress within local authority finance. The ideal candidate will start towards the bottom of the grade and be studying or willing to study for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or completed AAT Foundation Certificate (Level 2) qualification (or undertake relevant ILM knowledge based programme at ab equivalent level). This will allow you to develop within a framework and progress through the career grade based on qualification, skills, knowledge, experience and opportunity within the Financial Services structure. As you move towards the grades there will be further opportunities to study for a professional CCAB qualification.

This is a trainee post so is flexible within our Financial Services Teams however, your initial focus will be within the Children and Young People Finance Team dealing with all revenue and capital aspects of this service. You will support on a range of financial issues to the Council's senior managers and budge holders focussing on enabling service delivery and compliance with financial management.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and IT skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team within Financial Services. Additionally, you will have good organisation skills and have the ability to work within tight deadlines.
