Supporter Engagement Officer

We're looking for a highly organised and energetic person to help us to grow supporter numbers, to deliver engaging and educational information and events and to make the supporter experience as positive and rewarding as possible.

Reporting to our Head of Operations, your role would be to:

  • Develop and grow our Core Supporters' Programme
  • Grow and support our national network of Friends' Groups
  • Support the planning, organisation and delivery of our national conference
  • Support the planning and organisation of social events, webinars, and our attendance at conferences and events
  • Suggest and develop written content for our newsletter, website and social media campaigns
  • Brief our Press Officer on our activities
  • Support other staff and volunteers with a range of administrative and organisational tasks to enable us all to work efficiently together

    LGB Alliance has a small staff working with a large network of talented and committed volunteers. It has a range of committees and working groups that must be co-ordinated to prevent duplication of effort and to ensure the useful flow of information through the organisation.

    Your administrative tasks would include:
    • Organising our internal and external meetings' diary and confirming meetings with people outside of the organisation.
    • General correspondence: monitoring all mailboxes, prioritising emails and replying or forwarding to the responsible person as appropriate
    • Archiving 'press cuttings'
    • Carrying our pre-meeting background research on attendees
    • Uploading consultations, news stories and campaigns to our website
    • Reviewing donation reports and notifications for website donations
    • Sourcing and obtaining quotes for fundraising materials and resources
    • Sourcing and obtaining quotes for supporter events and booking venues and suppliers Distributing fundraising materials to partners as required
    • Assisting with all administrative functions that help the organisation to run smoothly

      This is a hybrid role and you should be able to attend meetings at our Central London office when required.

      You should be:

      Meticulous – attention to detail in all things, particularly written communications, is a key requirement.

      Articulate – you will be able to communicate your ideas with confidence.

      Flexible – we're a small organisation and you must be prepared to 'lend a hand' with a range of tasks as a need arises.

      Motivated – we are ambitious and we would like you to share our desire to grow our influence and effectiveness.
