The Department

The Execution Services department acts as a market maker and liquidity provider in UK equities, overseas equities, fixed income and preference shares, investment companies and ETFs for market counterparties, brokers and institutional clients.

The role involves overseeing a team trading Investment Companies securities with a view to maximising the return on capital employed for the firm, while endeavoring to be the contact of choice for UK institutions, brokers and wealth managers.

Role responsibilities

Responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

Have an understanding of the regulatory environment, and values and abilities consistent with the FCA conduct rules. Managing & leading the Investment Trusts Market-Making desk. Developing trading strategies in line with overall PH strategy. Ensuring traders deploy the firms' capital with a view to generating revenue and maximising the return to the firm. Ensuring traders utilise the firm's order management system and proprietary trading technology to promptly and accurately capture trades. Monitoring trading positions and managing trading risks on all assigned trading books within agreed risk tolerances, limits and procedures. Ensuring traders provide continuous two-way prices and adhering to all relevant Exchange Rules. Ensuring traders are sufficiently trained to perform their roles. Building and maintaining sound relationships with market counterparties, brokers and clients of the firm. Adhering to all relevant department and firm policies and procedures. Maintaining awareness of and managing all regulatory risks relevant to the trading book. Demonstrate sound conduct and uphold the key values of the firm at all times.

Job Requirements
Appropriately qualified. Knowledge of trade lifecycle. Knowledge of market risks to which trading books are exposed. Knowledge of the trading products and markets of the desk. Knowledge of trading strategies. Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to make informed decisions quickly. Ability to manage a team.
