About the Role

Vanguard is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Trading Analytics and Strategy (TAS) team. As the Global Head of Trading Optimization and Strategy, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge trading technologies, analytics, and data sources to minimize transaction costs and optimize trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the TAS Team: Manage a team of Transaction Cost Analysis professionals who provide research and evaluation for transformative trading processes, technologies, and analytic tools.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and manage strategic partnerships with trading desks to drive changes in trading behavior and process for continuous improvement.
  • Thought Leadership: Provide vision and thought leadership to assist in shaping the future of the transaction cost analysis and trading agenda.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct data-driven analyses and build tools to help shape our trading strategy, working closely with trader and portfolio manager partners across asset classes and passive as well as active mandates.
  • Technology Development: Develop and prototype increasingly complex technology tools that provide value to the transaction cost analysis processes, enhancing existing models, developing data sources and processes, and communicating results.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Engage with internal and external partners to represent the team's needs and perspectives on analyses that help to measure and manage transaction costs, using strong communication and interpersonal skills to integrate with the trading desk.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate degree or above in a quantitative discipline, with a graduate degree and/or professional certification (CFA, FRM) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of seven years related work experience, with a strong foundation of cross-asset class investment knowledge and experience with Python, R, SQL, or related programming languages highly desirable.
