Salary: c. £25,000 basic salary (plus bonus)

Opportunity
Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with a purposeful business and charity who inspire young people to volunteer overseas and looking to recruit a passionate, value driven and engaging Student Engagement Co-ordinator to join their Higher Education team.
As Student Engagement Co-ordinator, a big part of your job will be to help engage and inspire UK students to join once-in-a-lifetime volunteering programmes overseas. This role will involve researching target university partners and travelling to universities, attending freshers’ fairs and communicating directly with students across the country to inspire them to onboard onto a programme.
As their charity’s sole focus is international development, it is essential that the successful candidate has a passion for making a difference to communities globally and is therefore really engaged by the opportunity to encourage others to become global citizens.
Due to the nature of the UK higher education system, this role will be seasonal and whilst there will be busy periods of the year spent travelling the UK and interacting with universities and students face-to-face, the successful Student Engagement Co-ordinator will also be responsible for posting on social media year-round, responding to student emails and carrying out research on the market to increase the sales pipeline and develop new relationships.
This vacancy could be well suited to a candidate who has a genuine passion for inspiring young people to volunteer overseas but is equally ambitious to build a genuine career path and get stuck in to deliver
The Company:
Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with a purposeful business and connected UK registered charity who work across the globe, supported by young volunteers from the UK to provide support to low-income communities, schools and health centres overseas.
Our client is completely socially driven and the whole team lives by a set of strong core values so it is important the successful candidate aligns completely with this.
In exchange for your hard work, you will be rewarded with an impressive benefits pack (including 33 days annual leave, enhanced pension contribution, private health care benefits, summer working hours and opportunities for overseas travel to visit hubs), a genuine career path, and an incredibly rewarding job.
Requirements:
* An engaging communicator with a strong level of English (both written and verbal)
* Value focused with a genuine passion for supporting people and inspiring people to volunteer
* Previous experience of working/travelling within overseas communities or experience in international development work would definitely be an advantage
* The ability to manage own diary and be flexible to adapt and adjust to situations due to time differences between overseas hubs but also evening event requirements (freshers fairs as an example)
* Due to the nature of the role, willingness to regularly travel to universities across the UK and a full UK Driving License is essential
