National Account Manager - Retail (Spirits)

Up to £40k depending on experience


This newly created role of National Account Manager - Retail (Spirits), reporting to the Head of Sales, will be accountable for growing the distribution of core Spirit Cartel Brands targeting retail spirit specialists and e-commerce within the UK. To be successful you will reflect Spirit Cartel’s unique ethos confidently and independently whilst networking with buyers and main contacts for the retail groups. You will be responsible for building business and development plans that help you gain listings whilst effectively controlling costs. 


Candidate specification –

  • Suitable candidates will require an existing account base that includes partial coverage of the following customer base to embrace Majestic, Hedonism, Harrods, Selfridges, Amazon, Bordeaux Index & the plethora of quality independent spirits merchants the length and breadth of the nation
  • It is essential that you have a solid understanding of commercials and figures; the ability to prepare a listing proposal. embracing the necessary retail margins through to margin calculation and ROI.
  • You will have excellent written and oral communication skills as this role will develop the retail sector, through phone and email, rather than be expected to call on all accounts.
  • You will be enthusiastic about spirits, knowledgeable about brands, understand retail, yet can stand back and make a difference through influence.
  • Positive, proactive participation within a results driven team, by displaying an entrepreneurial, “can do” attitude.
  • Able to flourish in a small company environment, where doing and achieving goals is highly prized.
  • Have existing relationships with retail customers (regional and / or national), plus you will need to demonstrate your sales experience.

 

Working Pattern - This isn’t a 9-5 job; it will be hard work and you will need to be entrepreneurial whilst also having fun: you will be managing customer expectations.
