Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for providing administration support to the IT Operations teams. Areas of work will include, the processing of financial information, maintaining and managing asset databases and lists, recording of accurate notes during meetings and the production of ad-hoc statistics.

The post holder will need good organisational skills, and be comfortable with managing competing priorities, ensuring that both urgent and important tasks are progressed appropriately. The ability to closely follow procedures and an attention to detail are crucial to this role.

Excellent communication skills are vital to be able to deal with both face to face and telephone enquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn a range of IT software is crucial to be able to provide the necessary business information. Manual handling will be involved with the management of equipment in and the disposal of old equipment out. This post is based within the Digital Services Department located in Kingsdown, Bristol.

Main duties of the job

A n exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the busy Digital Services Operations team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust for 6 months full time . In this crucial role you will provide support to first, second and third line technical teams. Work will include the processing of financial information and maintenance contracts as well as the management of various asset databases. recording of accurate notes during meetings and the production of ad-hoc statistics.

The post holder will need good organisational skills, and be comfortable with managing competing priorities, ensuring that both urgent and important tasks are progressed appropriately. The ability to closely follow procedures and an attention to detail are crucial to this role.

You will be responsible for the management of equipment delivery and therecycling of old, meaning that some of the work will require frequent manual handling of heavy loads. Some straight-forward technical work will be involved, but full training will be given.

You will need to be highly motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic with excellent organisational and secretarial skills. Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets plus a generally high standard of computer literacy is expected. You will need to meet deadlines, whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy. Some driving will be required so a full driving license is necessary.
