You will work closely with colleagues across all branches of the Children's Services Department, as well as with colleagues from the wider County Council and other partners.

- £15 ph

  • 3 month contract initially

Role Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Subject Access Requests from individuals wanting access to personal information held within Children's Services records, in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act
  • Utilise HCC software to perform redactions on records for disclosure under Data Protection legislation.
  • Redact and disclose records to third party organisations such as the police and the Disclosure and Barring service. Also assist HCC in complying with court orders through the redacting and disclosing of appropriate records.
  • Update HCC systems with the progress of the SAR and keep clear and accurate records of the work you have produced.
  • Assist the Information Governance Manager with any crossteam tasks that may arise. This may include working on Potential Data Incidents or information rights requests with the Children's Services Data Protection team raised by the public or Freedom of Informationrequests.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential

  • Broad understanding of the nature of public services delivery and especially processes within a Children's Services Department.
  • IT skills, including basic data storage and records systems administration.
  • Good practices in recording, storage and retention of records.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Negotiation & cooperation, working closely with local staff and the public in identifying requirements.
  • Creativity and innovation.
  • Selfmotivated and committed to ongoing personal development.
Desirable

  • Previous experience of Data Protection and in particular delivery of a Subject Access function
