The post within Libraries and Neighbourhood Hubs will work flexibly within the team to deliver an efficient and effective service whilst maintaining excellent customer care.

You will need to be an individual who is highly motivated, well-organised, and a problem-solver. You will have a proven track record of excellent communication and ICT skills.

The ability to use your own initiative and work without direct supervision as well as being a good team member is a requirement of the role.

Building and maintaining effective partnerships within and outside the service, dealing with complex enquiries, developing staff potential and implementing new ways of working to ensure an effective service and best value are essential to the role. You will require an understanding of the Universal Offers set out by Libraries Connected, as these offers form a major part of service delivery within Libraries. In line with the library strategy, the post holder will participate in promotional and development activities and events for customers across the service and bring about improvements to customer service delivery.

You will be responsible for stock management by making sure all stock is in a good condition and moving stock on to other locations.

You must be able to support volunteers and support work placements within your designated location.

You will be required to work flexibly, providing support across the Libraries and Neighbourhood Hubs Service, including evenings and weekends as and when required to meet the needs of the service. The successful candidate may also be required to work at various locations across the borough as and when required.
