An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to join the management team within Birmingham Healthy Minds Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT).


Birmingham Healthy Minds (BHM) is a psychological therapies service for common mental health issues and offers evidence based psychological intervention using CBT approach at both step 2 and step 3 in accordance with NICE recommended guidance for depression and anxiety disorders.

BHM feeds into the BSOL system as a major provider of talking therapies.


Support staff to deliver step 2 interventions within the Talking Therapies service to offer evidence-based interventions within the stepped care model for people with common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.

Ensure that PWPs can support GPs and other members of the primary care teams to manage patients with common mental health problems

Be responsible for ensuring that high quality supervision and support is available to low intensity staff within the service.


Offer expert clinical guidance to other low intensity staff seeing complex patients collaboratively and taking complex patients from other low intensity staff.

To be the representative of the step two workforce on the senior management team

To have overall operational responsibility for the delivery of Step 2 interventions in the service.

Alongside the Clinical Lead and Service Manager, to develop a strategy for Step 2 that ensures Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded and works towards meeting the nationally set, long-term ambitions for Talking Therapies


Establish the supervision plan across the Step 2 team and have responsibility for ensuring compliance with Talking Therapies and NICE standards.

Manage a small caseload, providing low intensity psychological interventions to adults with common mental health problems, utilising a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions
